Press Release
May 3rd 2003,
Paul Anthony Band at Gasoline Alley, Clearwater, FL...
First, let me start by saying this was my first time seeing
The Paul Anthony Band Live. It is hard for me to put that
event experience into words, other than to say that it was a
magical event for sure. Taking the stage were the Band's
three (3) founding members Paul Anthony, Paul Bedard and
Byron Thoburn. As they took the stage their southern colors
and sounds started to explode with their first song, "You
Don't Have To Be Blue All The Time". All the questions I had
before ever witnessing the Band, were all answered during
this first song. Paul Anthony handled the lead vocals, and I
have to say, his voice is great, displaying his high power
and spiritual ring through with every note. Right from the
opening chord, the Band set the stage on fire, making them,
in my opinion, one of the best opening bands of choice for a
national act such as The Jimmie VanZant Band, who were to
take the stage shortly. Besides Paul's great vocal ability,
he also plays a mean lead guitar, not having to take a
second seat to anyone. There's also Byron Thoburn on drums.
Byron is a pure professional all the way, and it showed. And
last, but not least, was Paul Bedard, who was sending out a
base line that complimented each and every song. He's one of
those musicians who knows when he should be laid back, but
also knows when to bring it on strong and heavy. For a three
(3) piece band, they put on an incredible show, and their
talent, exceptional.
Part way through their show, the diversity of this Band
caused a funny thing happened, one that I have never seen in
all my life at a rock show. The Band fired up a Country
song, "Who's Your Daddy", and the crowd started to slow
dance, which had to be a first. At that point, I thought to
myself that they would never be able to recover, but boy was
I wrong. When the song ended, The Band went right back full
force, with "Thank God For Rock -N- Roll", and the crowd
went nuts. The Band even fired up an old Mo-Town tune at one
point in the show, and as I looked around the crowd, was
causing movement in some of the folks that were simply the
listening kind. Once this happened, even those folks were
hooked, and they didn't stop moving from that point on. The
band ended their set with a Paul Anthony Original, Mr.
Guitar Man.
It was than, that The Jimmie Van Zant Band took the stage,
with the whole place still screaming and jumping around
having fun. At one point during his show, Jimmie Van Zant
told the crowd that he had been listening to the last set of
The Paul Anthony Band, and that he was very impressed with
their talented performance, and told Paul Anthony, that he
sounded just like Stevie Ray Vaughn and that he could
definitely play like him. He said, "You did a fabulous job",
and they did.
The Paul Anthony Band is definitely a Band on the move.

Louisville, KY 03/22/03-
AmeriSearch Music Group, Inc, parent company of Gear Jammer
Records of Nashville, TN, and founders of the "Stars of the
Road" Talent Search 2003 event packed the space available to
them with standing room only at last week's Mid America
Truck Show. Talented truckers and/or their family members
were a part of a nationwide, on-going search for
undiscovered music talent who are a part of the
transportation industry. As put by one of it's Co, founders,
Frank Milstead, "it's music by truckers, for truckers."
MC and award winning artist,
Kenny Robbins, was in fine form and opened the show each day
along with Kenneth 'Otis' Junkin of Mayberry USA and
talented singer/actress, Laura McCray. Paul Anthony and
Paul Bedard of the Paul Anthony Band out of Florida
performed some of their original, hot selling tunes that
enhanced the overall quality of the event. Steve
Tviet, AMG's recording specialist and cofounder, personally
ran the sound to make certain that everyone on stage sounded
great.
